Spiritual Healing, Consciousness, and the Divine Mother
Spiritual Healing Overview
Spiritual healing works with the vibrations of light, energy, sound and consciousness. The healer feels, sees and hears the energy with their intuitive skills. They work with that energy to cleanse and clear old patterns, even illness that the clients hold and carry in their bodies. After clearing away the old and stagnant, the healer facilitates filling the client with a higher vibration of energy, which opens up new opportunity and harmony. It is in the transmutation of suffering from dark to light where spiritual healing seems magical, mystical and even mysterious.
Chakras are whirling energy centers that run up and down the center of our bodies, connected to a central channel. They resonate with stages of spiritual growth, from feeling safe on the planet at our root chakra at the base of the spine, to connecting to whatever or whoever we think of as the creator or creation, at the crown of our heads.
The Chakras and Healing
It is in the chakras that we hold the emotional wounds and traumas of our lives, and the job of spiritual healing is to excavate, release, refresh and renew.
Usually, the emotions blocking flow in our chakras come from deep in our childhoods and are in response to interactions with members of our family and communities. The unhealed energy of our mothers and fathers, as well as siblings, plays a very big role in the health of our chakras. As we release these painful experiences we fill with more and more light of a higher vibration and can find ourselves on more and more of an authentic path in our lives.
Cosmic Consciousness
The leap of faith for anyone considering energy healing is about the “energy” that comes in. What is it? Where does it come from?
In Energy Healing 101 you meet energy. You can “meet” it by holding a stone and feeling its vibration (light? heavy? visionary? happy?) Or you may put your hand on a person’s solar plexus and see, feel, know, hear, what you sense about it. This sensing takes time and practice to develop. But it is the starting point for an extraordinary opening of one’s intuition and connection to sensing the vibration of things in one’s world.
The Energies of Consciousness
As a healing student gets more advanced in energy healing he/she may be taught to start connecting to the energy of mystical beings from higher realms, such as Mother Mary or Kwan Yin. White Buffalo Calf Woman or Buddha. They connect to these beings –or possibly the energy of an archetype – and ask them to do the healing in the highest good for the person on their table. Usually the healer also gets waves of the very specific energy that floods in, such as feeling the loving grace of Mother Mary, for example. There is definitely the feeling of grace, of being sanctified and given a loving gift, when it is bestowed. This isn’t religious, it is a spiritual way of connecting to and receiving healing energy.
At this point you can see that there has been a leap from Energy Healing 101, learning to sense the energy of a stone, to the mystical world of entering into sensing the energies of consciousness.
As the healer’s skill increases they learn more and more to ask in the healing energy and to be a witness to the mystical beings’ work. Mystical, yes, but once the healer has experienced it for themselves, and feels the truth of the energies of these healer beings in their bones, they never look back or doubt again.
Where is this energy of consciousness? Spiritual leaders like Deepak Chopra and others from the East and West, and physicists, talk about cosmic consciousness. This is a universal energy field, a web of universal consciousness, a place we all are part of and are always tapping into.
Divine Mother Archetypes
In this manifest field of universal consciousness there would be many archetypes of the divine mother as well. Kali ( Goddess of Revolution), Durga (Warrior Goddess of Protection and Inner Strength), Lakshmi (Goddess of Abundance) are among her aspects. Just as there would be energy of Jesus Christ and White Buffalo Calf Woman. Just as there would be archetypes of many high level beings who represent different aspects of consciousness.
Tibetan Buddhist practice involves chanting intricate mantras to entrain to the embodiment of a deity found in this realm, such as the Chenrezig practice, the deity whom is the essence of compassion.
It is working with the energies of higher consciousness that is the key component of advanced spiritual healing work.
I expect that this cosmic consciousness, this field of energy, is where the Divine Mother’s energy is found. In fact, this huge universal energy field may well be the Divine Mother herself. Many spiritual gurus believe that Shakti (the feminine) is everything that is manifest and Shiva (the male), is source. The two are like nested Russian dolls. They are ONE. And may be THE ONE. The All That Is.
The Divine Mother Work
As above, so below.
In the Divine Mother work that I do and teach I am connecting to the unique energy field –the consciousness — of a person. Their soul, their spirit… Unique unto itself. Separate from universal mind but one with it at the same time, just like a snowflake is still part of the blizzard.
The first time I had experience with this personal energy was after 17 years of training as a healer. I was awakened on a full moon night being given a “healing” unlike I had ever received. An energy – a consciousness – was touching me with more compassion, understanding, acknowledgement and nurturance than I had ever experienced. The “energy” had an intelligence and knew very personal things about me. It exhibited sensitivity and tenderness for some of my own personal suffering that was very profound. I felt completely understood. Embraced. Supported.
Discovering the Divine Mother
Having eventually fallen asleep, I awoke the next morning with the night’s experience on my mind. I thought to myself, “That must have been The Divine Mother! Who else could it have been?” Not that I particularly knew who the Divine Mother was, but that is how it felt. I still was embraced in a profoundly nurturing energy that understood completely who I was. The reason I called it the Divine Mother was simply because of how it felt.
I have observed experientially over and over again in the 200+ healings that I have facilitated with this energy (each unique to each person) since then, that what I call the “Divine Mother,” is a consciousness that includes the all that is about a person. By taping into this energy they meet their most authentic self, and can unravel many mysteries about their soul’s mission and gifts. They can ask Her for healing that is in their highest good and results can be profound.
Spiritual Attributes
I see people’s divine mothers as a unique formation of light full of spiritual attributes. One might be a delicate white light radiating sweetness and compassion. Another’s might be like a waterfall of light spreading joy. All are different and beautiful in their own way.
Many have suggested that I change the name of this healing modality to something other than The Divine Mother Healing because people get confused. Is it a religion? Mother Mary? Etc. I never could change the name because the energy of the infinite soul – if that is what it is that I am connecting to – is that of the utterly, completely healed and loving mother. The more I work with the energy, the more the name feels right.
Pranic Light
The “divine mother” consciousness also manifests as pranic light and has a component that is an energy field weaving through our bodies. It has form. It also has a structure! And it envelopes the physical body and interpenetrates it. Over and over I see this image being activated in a healing, a torus:
You can see how the light weaving through the person is like a giant energy cradling.
Just as in universal consciousness, when Shakti (the feminine) is everything that is manifest and Shiva (the male), is source, the two are like nested Russian dolls. So I am finding the same with the consciousness of our personal infinite soul, or our Divine Mother. I am finding layers. The Divine Father – healed male energy specific for each person – is emerging as a deeply key piece of the spiritual healing for a person, profoundly clarifying in helping people step into “their truth.” And yes, the divine child is emerging as well…. totally unique, and carrying the blueprint of their Divine Mother and Father.
Feeling Grace
The more this “Divine Mother” prana energy flows and is activated to burn through the heavy layers of matter and emotional trauma that we carry in our chakras, the clearer and more embodied we become of our highest spiritual attributes.
The grace from the divine mother work comes in meeting our highest consciousness –becoming conscious of our consciousness– and feeling its love, healing and devotion towards us. Through this we can, in turn, heal ourselves and bring our highest attributes to the world.
